Golfers cherish the experience of golfing at the world’s highest golf course at Gulmarg. Kashmir has highest golf course in the world situated at an altitudes of 9000 ft above see level at Gulmarg.  Golfing in Gulmarg dates back to the19th century. It is from April to November that you can enjoy golfing in Gulmarg Kashmir. The environment at Gulmarg golf course mesmerises the golfers with its serene surrounding and wonderful climate. Country’s major ski – resort in winter

Gulmarg has a distinction of being recognised a winter sports capital of India. Gulmarg was primarily established as a ski resort by the British. Skiing had become very popular here and major events started taking place here. Skiing in Gulmarg starts from December to ending March. It has become hub of winter sports in India as first ‘National Winter Sports Games of India’ took place here in 1998.

Aparwath peak at a height of 4511 meters & 13 kms from Gulmarg is one day trek via Khilanmarg.. it takes several hours to trained skiers to reach to the top of the Aparwath & a descent from Aparwath  lasts for more than half an hour . For professional skiers Heli skiing was introduced in 1980 in Gulmarg. In Heli skiing professional skiers are taken to highest snow peaks by helicopter for the descent. In winter other snow sports activities include sledging where a sledge is pulled on the snow covered slopes. The best ski run of 3 kms is accessed by Gondola Cable Car Lift in Gulmarg which allows a ski run of 2213 meters.

Picturesquely situated at a distance of 4 kms from Gulmarg – the Khilanmarg & the area around is presents captivating views of the ‘Nanga Parbat’ the twin peaks of Nun & Kun and the Himalayas flanked by the mountains and pine trees tourists can reach this place by walking.


Breathtakingly beautiful the Aparwath peak is at a height of about 14000ft above sea level. This snow covered mountain peak presents   scenic view. Tourists can reach this peak by taking a Gulmarg Gondola Cable Car Lift drive of phase 2 from where the actual Aparwath mountain peak is approximately 30 minutes Walkaway.

Frozen Lake

Situated at the foot of the Aparwath peak – the

Alpather Lake is also referred to as frozen lake as the lake stands frozen till mid of June. The lake is flanked by snow capped mountain peaks of Aparwath.

Attractions – situated at a distance of 13 kms from Gulmarg. Attractions are adventure one day trek to Alpather Lake from Gulmarg & skating during the frozen months of November to April on the icy surface of this blue transparent lake.

Nagin valley

Picturesquely situated at a distance of 9 kms from Gulmarg the Nagin valley is also famous by the name of ‘Bota Pathri’ the area is famous for its natural beauty.
